Michelle Obama gives weekly address on kidnapped Nigerian girls

Michelle says the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Nigeria is an "unconscionable act" carried out by "grown men attempting to snuff out the aspirations of young girls."
"In these girls, Barack and I see our own daughters," the first lady said, referring to Malia, 15, and Sasha, 12. "We see their hopes, their dreams and we can only imagine the anguish their parents are feeling right now."
Earlier this week, she tweeted a picture of herself in the White House holding a sign with the message "#BringBackOurGirls".
The UN Security Council expressed outrage over the abductions, saying it would consider "appropriate measures" against Boko Haram. The US is seeking to have UN sanctions imposed on the group.
The Nigerian government\’s inability to rescue the girls nearly a month after they were abducted by Boko Haram has sparked worldwide outrage. The U.S. and other countries have sent teams of technical experts to assist the Nigerian government\’s search effort.
Boko Haram\’s leader has said the group intends to "sell" the girls.
In the Republican address, Representative John Kline said President Obama and the Senate Democrats should focus their attention on passing bills that promote jobs. Kline listed more than a dozen bills that House of Representative Republicans have passed that he said were designed to promote jobs.
