Afghan provincial polls candidate among nine killed
An Afghan provincial council candidate and eight supporters are believed to have been killed in the country\’s northern province of Sari Pul overnight, according to reports citing police and relatives on Wednesday.
Hussain Nazari was a candidate for the provincial council in northern Afghanistan.
The eight other victims have not been identified.
No one has claimed responsibility for the killings, but authorities blame the Taliban.
The Taliban has vowed to disrupt this week\’s presidential election in Afghanistan.
