Spain arrests four suspected supporters of Islamic State

Photo: AFPMadrid, Spain ( TOE) – Spanish authorities arrested four people after dismantling a recruiting network for the Islamic State, jihadist group active in Iraq and Syria.
During an anti-terrorist raid, two people were arrested in Melilla, the Spanish enclave in neighbouring Morocco. The others were detained in Girona and Barcelona in Spain\’s northeastern region of Catalonia.
According to the Spanish Interior Ministry, the suspects also organized private home visits for recruiting purposes, and a number of young people had begun preparations to travel to war zones.
About 100 Spaniards have joined jihadist fighters in Iraq and Syria and similar groups – far fewer than have left France, Britain and Germany to fight.
