Burqa-wearing gunmen attack Afghan police

Afghan officials said militants disguised as women have attacked a police compound near Kabul, killing one police officer and wounding at least three other officers.
Authorities said a suicide car bomber blew the gates open at police headquarters Friday morning in Sarobi, about 48 kilometers east of Kabul.
Police said male attackers dressed in the all-encompassing burqa, traditionally worn by Afghan women, then opened fire and a gun battle ensued inside the compound.
Police said all the attackers were killed.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Afghan insurgents have increased attacks in recent months, intensifying a campaign to regain territory as foreign forces draw down ahead of a full withdrawal at the end of 2014.
The Taliban has also vowed to disrupt the country\’s April 5 election to select a successor to President Hamid Karzai.
