Li Na beats Dominika Cibulkova to win Australian Open final
Chinese tennis star Li Na has won the prestigious Australian Open women\’s title in Melbourne.
Fourth seeded Li beat number 20 Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia in straight sets, 7-6, 6-0.
Saturday\’s victory makes Li the oldest woman to earn the grand slam title in Australia. She turns 32 next month.
Li had lost her two previous finals matches in Melbourne, dropping three-set decisions last year and in 2011.
She won the French Open in 2011, becoming the first Chinese women\’s tennis player to win one of the four majors events.
The men\’s final Sunday features top seed Rafael Nadal of Spain against number eight Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland.
