At least 30 killed in Baghdad bombings

Authorities say four car bombings and mortar fire shook the capital, Baghdad, Saturday. There was no word on who was responsible for the attacks.
Violence has escalated in Iraq over the past year. Tensions have soared since al-Qaida-linked militants and others seized the city of Fallujah in Anbar province, exploiting disagreements among minority Sunnis over the actions of the Shi\’ite-led government.
The White House says Vice President Joe Biden spoke with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki Saturday to highlight the United States\’ support for Iraq\’s fight against the terror group in Anbar province.
A statement says the two leaders agreed on the importance of Iraq\’s continued outreach to local and tribal leaders in the area.
