Somalia\’s al-Shabab Twitter account has been reportedly suspended after they claimed responsibility for the Nairobi shopping mall attack, in which 39 people were reported dead and 150 were wounded.
Militant group al-Shabab has returned to the social media site Twitter, after its account was suspended Saturday.
Twitter shut down the account after al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the deadly mall attack in Nairobi. However, the militant group quickly re-appeared on the site using a slightly different moniker and was posting messages Monday.
Before the suspension, al-Shabab had issued several messages detailing the attack on the Westgate mall, which left more than 60 people dead.
This was the third time al-Shabab was suspended from Twitter. Its previous accounts were suspended after the militants posted photographs of a French soldier they killed, and later for threatening Somalia\’s president.
