President Barack Obama says the United States sells more goods overseas than ever before and will continue to pass that record again this year.
Obama praised members of his Export Council for responding to the immediate needs of the American people to rebuild the economy in a meeting Wednesday in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, next to the White House.
He said there are 7.5 million new jobs in the private sector, adding the economy has thrived from importing less foreign oil and selling great products around the world.
The president credited the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, for helping cause health care costs to grow at the slowest rate in 50 years. He said lower health care costs help the bottom line of American businesses and individuals, which makes them more competitive.
