Former South African President Nelson Mandela was discharged from hospital and returned to his Johannesburg home on Sunday, the South African presidency said.
The report Sunday comes one day after false reports that he had been released on Saturday.
A statement from Jacob Zuma\’s office now says  Mandela was discharged Sunday from a Pretoria hospital to continue his recovery at his home in Johannesburg. He was admitted to the hospital on June 8 for a recurring lung infection.
Johannesburg is about 55km (34 miles) south of South Africa\’s capital, Pretoria.
The statement said  Mandela, who is 95, "remains critical and is at times unstable," and his home has been "reconfigured to allow him to receive intensive care there."
Mandela has been in and out of the hospital for much of the past year.
The former president is revered in South Africa and beyond for his role in ending official racial discrimination and white minority rule. After spending 27 years in prison, he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 and was elected South African\’s first black president the following year.
