Former prime minister of Nepal dies at 71

The last Nepalese prime minister to serve before protests ushered in the Himalayan country\’s first democratic elections in the early 1990s has died.
Marich Man Singh Shrestha, 71, was suffering from lung cancer breathed his last at the Norvic hospital, officials said.
He was undergoing treatment at New Delhi based Medicity Hospital for about a month and was airlifted to the capital Tuesday night after no significant improvement was seen in his health.
Shrestha told family members that he wished to die in his own country, local media has reported.
The first prime minister of the country from the Newar community, Mr Shrestha was dismissed by King Birendra during demonstrations in support of multi-party elections.
He served as prime minister from 1986 to 1990.
