The Lebanese militant group Hezbollah says Israel carried out an airstrike Monday on its positions near the Syrian border, and vowed to retaliate against what it called a "blatant" attack.
Hezbollah said in a statement Wednesday the airstrike near the eastern village of Janta caused no casualties, and that the group will choose a time and place to respond.
Israel has not confirmed or denied it was responsible for the reported attack.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday his government will not detail what it is or is not doing, but that they are taking necessary measures to protect the Israeli people.
Hezbollah is an ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and has sent its fighters into Syria to help battle rebels.
Israel has reportedly attacked multiple shipments of missiles traveling from Syria to Lebanon, including some originating from Iran.
Monday\’s airstrike would be the first by Israel on Lebanese soil since the Syrian conflict began in March 2011.
