Five people were killed and nine injured in a shooting on Monday night in a mostly Shia neighbourhood of eastern Saudi Arabia, police said, as the area prepared to celebrate the Shia festival of Ashura.
"Three masked people fired with machine guns and pistols" as "a group of citizens left a site in the village of Al-Dalwa" in the region of Al-Ihsa, said a police spokesman.
