Deadly blast hits Pakistan police bus

A bomb attack in Karachi, Pakistan, has killed at least 11 police officers and wounded dozens more.
Police in the southern port city said Thursday that the police officers were aboard a bus when it was hit by a vehicle laden with explosives. Officials said many of the wounded are in critical condition.
The Karachi attack comes a day after nine people were killed on the outskirts of the city of Peshawar, in Pakistan\’s northwest near the border with Afghanistan. Officials said attackers on Wednesday hurled hand grenades into the home of a Pakistani police officer. Officials said at least a dozen men targeted the house of the police officer, who was killed in a shootout last Sunday.
On Tuesday in Peshawar, at least 11 people were killed after assailants threw grenades into a crowded movie theater. At least 20 others were wounded.
No one has claimed responsibility for the recent attacks.
They take place as the Pakistani government conducts peace talks with members of the Pakistani Taliban, in hopes of ending nearly a decade of insurgency in the country\’s northwest.
