Sweden beats Denmark 5-1 in world junior hockey

Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick William Nylander scored in Sweden\’s 5-1 victory over Denmark on Saturday in the World Junior Championship.
Lucas Wallmark, Jacob de la Rose, Anton Blidh and Sebastian Aho also scored and Linus Soderstrom made 19 saves to help Sweden improve to 2-0 in Group B play. Sweden beat the Czech Republic 5-2 on Friday night. Nick Olesen scored for Denmark, coming off a 3-2 shootout loss to Russia on Friday.
In the other Group B game Saturday, Nashville draft pick Kevin Fiala scored twice in Switzerland\’s opening 5-2 victory over the Czech Republic.
In Group A in Montreal, Slovakia beat defending champion Finland 2-1, and Canada played Germany.
Denis Godla made 37 saves, and Peter Cehlarik and Matus Holenda scored to help Slovakia rebound from an 8-0 loss to Canada on Friday night. Mikko Rantanen scored for Finland.
The United States opened Group A play Friday with a 2-1 shootout victory over Finland. The Americans will face Germany on Sunday, Slovakia on Monday and finish group play Wednesday night against Canada. The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
